Questions about AI citation share
What does share of citations mean?
A domain's citations divided by all citations counted in the report. If the answers include 40 links in total and 4 go to your site, your share is 10%.
Why is a review site cited more than my own site?
Pages that compare several products answer buying questions directly, so models tend to link them. The report shows which ones. BlazeHive writes comparison and listicle pages on your own domain, and outreach pitches ranking articles that mention your competitors.
Which AI models are checked?
ChatGPT (an OpenAI model), Claude and Gemini, through their APIs. Web search is turned off, so the answers show what each model says by default from its training. Perplexity and Google AI Overviews are not checked.
Does it track my citation share over time?
No. The report is a point-in-time check. Scheduled re-checks, history charts and alerts are not available yet. You can run the report again later and compare the two results yourself. A report is cached for 2 days per domain, so a new run after that asks the models again.
Are these the citations I would see with web search on?
Not always. The report asks with web search off, so the links come from what each model learned. Search-enabled answers can pull in newer pages.
Is the domain citation report free?
Yes. Enter your domain, then your name and email, in the report form on the BlazeHive agency page, and the report is emailed to you. No account is needed.
